The energy coming from the sun and hitting the earth represents ten thousand times the energy consumption of mankind. Sun energy represents hence a huge potential. But, currently, 1,3 billion people still do not have access to electricity : there is hence a huge energy need to satisfy.
Solar Solidarity International promotes a fair and sustainable development by creating momentum to bridge the gap between the huge potential of renewable energies and the enormous energy need of mankind.
Solar Solidarity is a non profit international organization (AISBL – Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif) aiming to :
raise awareness of the potential of renewable sources of energy (and in particular the potential [1] of the sun) for mankind and for the environment,
raise funds to support projects using renewable technology in particular solar photovoltaic technology [2] to provide energy to the developing world.
[1] Studies (for example : the study edited by Dr. Arnulf Jäger-Waldau from the Joint Research Center of the European Commission « European Roadmap for PV R&D ») show indeed that the electricity coming from the sun should provide more than 70 % of the energy consumption worldwide in 2100.
